Ahtna Inc., the home Native corporation of the Copper River Valley, sent out a request on Facebook May 6th for handmade cloth face coverings. They said they wanted to purchase the masks directly from shareholders, in minimum quantities of 10.
Ahtna is asking for tightly woven 100% cotton maks, with two layers of fabric and "an additional filter procket layer." Flexible nose pieces are preferred. If there's a shorage of Alaska, "cloth ties can also be used." Ahtna wants shareholders to mail the fce coverings to either Ahtna's Glennallen or Anchorage office.
The CDC advises people to use simple cloth face coverings to keep people from transmitting it to others, Ahtna noted on Facebook.

Costco and Alaska Airlines are setting nationwide rules for the "new normal" in use of face masks. Both will require customers, as well as their employees, to wear face masks. You must have a face mask to enter a Costco Warehouse. Costco has also added special shopping hours for members ages 60 and older, and people with disabilities.
Costco's New Rules Started Monday, May 4th
It will be open for them from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Monday through Friday. Only members who meet this criteria will be able to shop during these hours. Alaska Airlines customers will be required to wear a mask in the airport, in the boarding area, and on the aircraft.

Alaska Airlines Rules Will Be Phased In Over The Next Week
