Coastal waters forecast for the Northern Gulf  of Alaska Coast up to 100 nm out including Kodiak Island and Cook Inlet.
The National weather service said : "Models are in fairly good agreement with the storm/hurricane force low moving into the Gulf over the weekend so confidence is high with this system"
Meanwhile winds in Anchorage and the Copper Valley are expected to be light this week. Well, scratch that - up here in Gakona, on Monday afternoon, winds are gusting to at least 40 mph! The Gulf of Alaska is still under a gale warning with 45 knot winds and seas to 20 feet. Although it isn't very windy in Valdez, Prince William Sound has a small craft advisory for Monday and Tuesday nights.
Overall for the Copper Valley, it looks like a cloudy and somewhat rainy week ahead except for Tuesday which the National Weather Service says will be sunny. Giving you one more chance to try and spot a caribou.
