School District Says Schools Are Now In "Medium Risk Level" Plan

Here's What The District Says That Means For Students & Parents 

GOVERNOR'S EMERGENCY MESSAGE,  NOVEMBER 12TH  

Our Governor sent out an emergency message that is urging all Alaskans to follow some basic recommendations to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19. He has not mandated districts to close schools.

CRSD's  Health Advisory Committee met and determined to continue at medium risk-level next week based on current local cases. We will provide information about school risk-levels as swiftly as we are able for the weeks to come. If more information is needed by families on what the medium risk level entails please contact your child's school.  

 

 MEDIUM RISK SCHEDULE PLAN, NOVEMBER 9TH

Elementary K-5: on site from 8:25 to 2:10 Monday through Friday.
 

Middle School 6-8: on site from 8:25 to 2:10 Monday through Friday.
 

High School Group A: 8:25 to 2:10 on site Monday & Tuesday. Wednesday to Friday they will connect remotely.
 

High School Group B, 8:25 to 2:10 they will connect remotely Monday through Wednesday. Thursday & Friday on site.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE COPPER RIVER SCHOOL DISTRICT, NOVEMBER 8TH

The Copper River School District is now in the Medium-Risk Level for school attendance. For the medium risk level the numbers of community transmission has gone beyond 27 positive cases in our census area (This is part of the Valdez, Cordova, and Other area. Our count only includes the "Other" in the consensus area).

All high school students in the district go immediately into an A & B day rotation.

"A" day students attend on-site on Monday and Tuesday. No High School students attend on-site on Wednesday. 

Thursday and Friday the "B"day students attend on-site school. When not attending on-site, high school students attend remotely including Wednesdays when both A & B  day students attend remotely.

Glennallen Middle School students are also on an A & B day rotation. 

Slana and Kenny Lake Middle School students are on-site.

All elementary students during medium risk level. will continue to be on-site.

All schools will have shortened days during the medium-risk level. School will be out at 2:10 pm.

Bus schedules have been revised to reflect the early release time.

 LETTER FROM THE GLENNALLEN HIGH PRINCIPAL,  NOVEMBER 8TH

Dear Parents and Guardians,

CRSD is now in the medium risk level. High School students at Glennallen High School will attend school on-site based on the A & B day schedule. Middle School Students at Glennallen are also on an A & B day rotation. Teachers are currently contacting families and making them aware. Teachers also went over this schedule with their respective students so they should know which schedule they are on. Kenny Lake students who attend Glennallen for Treks were all notified of the A and B day schedule. All Upstream Learning students will be attending Treks on B days (Thursday and Friday) in person and remotely on Monday and Tuesday. LETTER FROM THE GLENNALLEN ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL,  NOVEMBER 8TH 

Dear Parents and Guardians,

CRSD is now in the medium risk level. GES students will be in school every day and released at 2:10. The Awards Assembly will continue to take place. However it will only be open to the public via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent out to parents and families early this week. If you have not updated your email, please contact Mrs. Sondergaard at 822-3232 to update your information.


Also, please contact Mrs. Sondergaard if you did not receive the automated message from the District about the Risk level change. We are working to get all contact information updated for all parents and families.

Students will need to have all Chromebooks, chargers, other class material brought back to school on Monday. Students will also need to bring a lunch since we are not serving school lunch this week.


Sanitizing measures will increase throughout the day as well as social distancing int he building. Mask wearing is highly recommended as we are doing our best to help stop the spread of the virus at school. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at fjackson@crsd.us.
