Alaska's only House Representative, Don Young, has contracted COVID-19. He is one of many high elected officials, White House employees, staff and others in the national scene who have come down sick.

The announcement was made on November 12th, 2020. Young wrote "I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am feeling strong, following proper protocols, working from home in Alaska, and ask for privacy at this time. May God Bless America."

Young, who is 87 years old, is the oldest person in Congress. He is also squarely in the most endangered group as far as having the virus is concerned. COVID-19 targets the elderly.

On November 16th, he revealed he had been hospitalized at Providence. "Very frankly, I had not felt this sick in a very long time," Young said.

Young recently won his seat back for a 25th term in the current election.
