Foreshadowing "No Room At The Inn", City Hospitals In St. Louis, Missouri Are Too Crowded To Accept Any Rural Patients

Nightmare Scenario Around The Country

St. Louis Is Turning Away Non-Urban Residents

One thing Americans have always prided ourselves with is our ability to provide refuge and help in time of need. If there's a hurricane, or flooding, or forest fires we rush from other parts of the country that are unaffected to give our assistance. During the coronavirus epidemic this will be increasingly more difficult. Everywhere in America is affected.

Just last week, siting Alaska's dwindling ability to provide hospital care in the state's few major hospitals (most of them in Anchorage) Governor Dunleavy asked Alaskans for more cooperation in protecting the state's infrastructure.

The issue of hospital capacity in Alaska is serious. And it doesn't just affect people in Anchorage. When somebody is "medevaced" from the Copper Valley, they are medevaced into Anchorage because we do not have hospitals in our region.

People from rural communities in Missouri are already seeing what we might expect soon here in our state. There's no room for them in the St. Louis hospitals.
