New Dangerous Strain Has Been Found In Alaska

Tuesday February 23, 2021 (Anchorage, AK)  In a story by Annie Berman, the Anchorage Daily News reported this evening that the first case of the dreaded variant from Brazil had been found in Alaska.

The story says it is only the sixth confirmed case of this variant discovered in the U.S. The story quotes Dr. Joe McLaughlin as saying that the person who tested positive had not traveled but had, in fact, eaten unmasked at a local restaurant with another person four days before coming down with symptoms.

Because the Alaska Legislature has let the state's Emergency Declaration lapse the state has lost its ability to mandate that people get tested when they arrive in the state.

The only way to stop coronavirus is for more people to get vaccinated before these dangerous variants become widespread. Call CRNA today to see when you can get vaccinated.
