Longtime Copper Valley Resident Searched For Answers About Her Father's Long, Hardworking Life... And Found Them
Janelle Eklund of Kenny Lake has transcribed a book about her father's life stories, and is publishing it on April 8th, 2021. Cecil Eklund was born in 1910 and lived to be over a century old.
Like many of his time, he was the son of an immigrant. In the classic tradition, the young Swedish-American worked hard jobs requiring manual labor – in a logging camp, an apple orchard and a glass factory – and weathered the Great Depression. He was dedicated to workers' rights.
Janelle's book costs $16.95. It's available at Wenger's Store in Kenny Lake, at Glennallen IGA, and on Amazon on the internet. If you know Janelle, you can also get it directly from her.
