Richardson Hwy MP 159-167 Reconstruction
Project overview
Project Description and Location
Continue to realign and widen the road embankment from MP 159 to 167. Construct Haggard Creek Bridge. Improve the drainage along the highway by placement of culverts, ditch lining, and riprap.
General Expected Traffic Impacts
Expect 20 minute delays and possible road closure at night during blasting days.

Denali Highway Rock Creek Bridge Replacement
Project overview
Project Description and Location
Replace existing one-lane bridge with a two-lane bulb-T concrete bridge at Denali Highway MP 25, Rock Creek.
General Expected Traffic Impacts
Traffic will be detoured around the working area through a temporary crossing. Flagger may be used on site for equipment access. Expect 20 minute delays.

Gulkana River Boat Launch
Project overview
Project Description and Location
Construct a multi-purpose facility to serve the existing unimproved boat launch site at the Gulkana River Bridge near MP 127 on the Richardson Highway. Work includes construction of new wayside areas and access roads.
General Expected Traffic Impacts
Traffic impacts should be minimal, for haul units entering and leaving the project site, and for the construction of a new approach. There may be restrictions and delays accessing the existing unimproved shoreline boat launch; we are investigating if construction can be sequenced to avoid high use times.

McCarthy Road Chokosna River Bridge
Project overview
Project Description and Location
Replace existing Chokosna River Bridge at McCarthy Road MP 27. Bridge will be replaced on a new alignment, with a single-span 146’ length bridge. Other work includes realigning the road to the new bridge, armoring the new embankment to prevent erosion, removing the existing bridge, relocating approaches and culvert work.
General Expected Traffic Impacts
Reduced speeds in the project area and intermittent delays, up to 20 minutes. Delays should not be present the whole length of the construction period, as the majority of the work will occur off the existing road on a new alignment and the existing bridge will remain until the new is complete.

Crystal Creek Culvert Replacement

Replacing multiple failing culverts with single fish pass culvert and improve horizontal and vertical curve geometry on McCarthy Highway at milepost 41.
