Sitka's New Coronavirus Caseload Is Hitting The Roof As Of July 22nd, 2021 

There are around 8,500 residents in Sitka, Alaska. And Sitka is in trouble. 

As the new and extremely contagious form of the delta variant roars into the state, Sitka is especially hard hit.
 
In just the past few weeks after the 4th of July, the number of people coming down sick with the virus is rising at a gallop.  By July 22nd, Sitka was stunned to find itself with 200 new sick people. 

City officials are requiring a mask mandate in city buildings.
