33 Sick People In One Week.

Covid Is Hitting The Copper Valley.  Hard

The dangerous Delta variant is spreading rapidly through the Copper River Valley.

In the past week, 33 local people have gotten sick with the virus, according to the Copper River Native Association, which compiles data with Mount Sanford Tribal Consortium in Chistochina/Mentasta and Cross Road Medical Center in Glennallen.

The state of Alaska reported that on September 9th alone, 9 local people came down sick in this region.

The cumulative total of people who are known to have had Covid in the Copper Valley is now 377 – just short of 400 of our total population of around 2,600 Copper River Country residents.
