Alaska Public Media Reports Two Interior School Districts Will Require Masks

Alaska Public Media has reported that starting Monday, September 27th, the Denali Borough School District will join the Tok, Alaska Gateway School District in requiring…"everyone who enters a district building to wear a facemask to curb the spread of the coronavirus."

Alaska Public Media reported that the Denali School Board voted to "require universal masking" at their  last Tuesday Board Meeting.

The rule is an attempt to keep rural schools open as coronavirus cases surge in interior Alaskan communities.

On Friday, September 24th, the State of Alaska COVID-19 data summary reported 1,793 new positive cases of coronavirus in Alaska and announced 44 COVID deaths (40 of which were from previous months).
