Oil prices have been rising this fall. With the Russian attack on Ukraine, they have started to surge. The state will benefit from the higher cost of oil, but individual Alaskans are struggling to deal with inflation. 

This being an election year, lawmakers are eager to help their constituents. Governor Mike Dunleavy proposed, last December, a $1,250 spring dividend. He also proposed an additional $2,564 fall PFD check for 2022.
