May 25th: Speaker At GHS Will Talk About Vaping & Health Dangers

Vaping Is Apparently A Problem Here

The Copper River School District is concerned about vaping and its health effects. The district and CRNA are bringing a guest speaker to the region on May 25th to talk about its dangers.

Here's a note from Jason Williams, Principal at Glennallen:

FROM THE PRINCIPAL:

CRNA will be flying in a guest speaker to talk to our students about the long term effects of vaping. This particular young man survived having a lung transplant as a result of vaping. This information couldn't be more timely in helping educate our students. In addition to having this dialogue with both our middle school and high school students, students from Mentasta have been invited to this event as well. Apart from students recieving this information, we would like to invite parents, grand parents, or legal guardians to attend as well. This might assist families with feeling comfortable with having some open dialogue surrounding the topic at homes.
