Centennial Park Campground, located off the Glenn Highway as you drive into Anchorage, was just "repurposed" by the City of Anchorage to house homeless people. The Sullivan Arena, which had cots and services for many months, was closed to the homeless around a week ago.

But the campground is a place where Anchorage's black bears like to  look for trash, which is a menace to people nearby.

On July 5th, four black bears were killed in Centennial Park, says Fish & Game.
