Small Fire Off The Glenn Is Suppressed & Contained, Forestry Says 



UPDATE FROM DNR, JULY 30TH, 2022 

Daily Report From:  7/30/2022
Status: Unstaffed / Contained (U/C)
Summary:  Suppression efforts were completed and the fire has been left in monitor status. 


The State Of Alaska says a fire was reported by a local resident who saw smoke north of the Glenn Hwy near Mile 163 on July 28th. 

 (For reference, Lake Louise  Junction is at Mile 160 of the Glenn. Tex Smith Lake and "Trapper's Den" -- originally the Lottie Sparks home -- is at Mile 162 of the Glenn.) 

Forestry personnel responded and suppressed the fire. The perimeter is 80% contained and two forestry personnel will staff this fire overnight.
