Like Anchorage, Mat-Su Schools Also Say They Have Bus Troubles

Story In Anchorage Daily News Reports "Unexpected Driver Shortage" In Mat Valley 

The Mat-Su School District is going to start its school year with "rolling transportation cancellations". The district says it doesn't have enough school bus drivers, according to a Daily News story on Friday. 

The Mat Valley's school bus company, Durham School Services, told the district about the problem on Thursday, August 11th, a few days before school is due to start. 

The district has posted the cancellations on its website. This is part of a trend. Only a few days ago, Anchorage's huge school district also told parents that they had serious bus problems, with a shortfall of around 70 bus drivers.
