Volunteer search and rescue personnel saved a man who got stuck on his snow machine in Northwest Alaska, traveling between Noorvik and Kotzebue. He had a cell phone, but no cell service. 

Yet the phone -- the new iPhone 14 -- did have satellite service, which is free for two years after starting up the device. Working with Apple, the volunteers located the lost snowmachiner. 

On October 7th, 2022, Business Insider reviewed the new phone.
