A Covid outbreak among members of the Alaska State House on Monday, March 28th led to recess of the floor session in the House chambers.
The Alaska House Speaker Louise Stutes (Republican) asked members to wear a mask to help "those of us who are immunocompromised, while still upholding our responsibility to Alaskans to pass the budget in a timely manner."
When a number of House members refused, she shut down the session.
Some legislators are defiantly saying they will not mask or test.
