Copper Valley Highways  Fair Ice glaze, Icy patches. Caribou are crossing in the Nelchina area.
Richardson Highway North of Paxson Fair
Icy patches, Shoulder Drifting, Light Drifting (0-1 foot)
THOMPSON PASS Fair 32 MPH GUSTS
Surface Conditions Blowing snow, Dry surface, Icy patches, Light Drifting (0-1 foot), Visibility reduced, resuspended snow dust

The ice buildup on the highways is making for rough driving and long stopping distances. Another problem is that deeper snows are driving moose onto roadways. The best advice is to drive a little slower.
Cold weather remains firmly in place. There is no relief in sight even though spring officially started on Friday.

Travel Safe

It's always an emergency when your car breaks down in the winter but it is doubly dangerous when the north wind is blowing and it is very cold. Don't travel at night if you don't have to. Wear a hat and gloves. Take a charged headlamp. Be sure to have an emergency kit in your car with blankets, energy bars and emergency winter clothing for every member of your family in case your car does break down or slides off the road.
