Troopers Charge Failure To Stop, DUI Near Midnight On Old Richardson In Copper Center

30-Year-Old Copper Center Man Charged With Felony, Troopers Say

On 07/21/2022 at approximately 2313 hours, AST attempted a traffic stop on a red Ford F150 for speeding and no headlights on the Old Richardson Highway in Copper Center. 

The vehicle failed to stop for AST and was driving recklessly for several miles. The vehicle ultimately stopped, and the driver was identified as John Goodwin, age 30 of Copper Center. 

Investigation revealed John was driving under the influence of alcohol. John provided a sample of his breath resulting in .175 BrAC. John is being held at the Glennallen State Trooper Post on one count of Fail to Stop at the Direction of Peace Officer (Felony) and Driving Under the Influence while pending arraignment.
