The Smithsonian is America's most important and historic museum system. It's also the largest, with 21 museums, 14 educational centers, and the National Zoo. In Alaska, 600 items are displayed to the people of the state in this long-standing display in Anchorage. There are hundreds of "affiliate" locations across America.
