The Alaska State Troopers are looking for information about a moose that was poached near Mile 98 on the Richardson at around 6:30 pm on Tuesday, September 22nd.

The bull moose was removed, according to a report in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, in a trailer which was seen fleeing the scene, headed north to Glennallen.

According to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, the truck pulling the trailer was "a dark colored, older model Chevy or GMC standard cab."

If you have any ideas or information, call the Wildlife Troopers at 907 822-3263 in Glennallen, or call the Wasilla dispatch line at 907-352-5401.

Journal Note: This Copper Valley-related Trooper dispatch was only available in the Fairbanks paper. It was not posted by the Alaska State Troopers on the daily statewide Trooper dispatches for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of September, 2026.
