Delays on the Parks Highway continued Friday because of firefighting activity on the Nenana Ridge Complex and concerns for public safety. . Due to ongoing fireactivity, significant resource commitment across multiple areas, current fuel conditions, and predicted weather – Alaska remains in a Preparedness Level (PL) 5 today.While initial attack remained light on Friday, new starts were responded to quickly. There are more than 1,600 personnel assigned to 28 staffed fires in the state.
