Community Finally Has Access To National Weather Service Readings From The Gulkana Airport

After several months of being offline and giving readings from Eureka's Airport, NOAA's Gulkana weather forecast started showing Gulkana readings on Tuesday afternoon.

December 16, 2025 Glennallen, Alaska

The readings create a reliable place for Copper Valley residents to find out basic weather conditions from a centralized location. They are available 24/7 on the internet. It also gives pilots a heads up on conditions they will find when they land at the Copper River Valley's major airport.

Because the Copper Valley encompasses 25,000 square miles, weather at different locations will vary widely, but the basic weather records for the Copper River Region are based on the Gulkana Station's weather readings.
