Glennallen Alaska Court, Which Was Closed For Several Months, Has Refilled Its Staff Vacancy

Court Has Reopened 

On October 13th, 2026, in response to a request for information on the status of the closed Courthouse in Glennallen, Brodie Kimmel, Area Court Administrator, wrote the following reply

 

The Glennallen Court is a single employee court location, and the facility was closed for several months this summer as we worked to fill a vacancy. During that time, other courts in the region provided remote coverage for hearings and case filings.

This position was recently filled and the court has reopened. As with any single employee location, there may be times when the court needs to close temporarily due to training or scheduled leave. 

Those closures are posted to the Alaska Court System’s webpage with as much advanced notice as possible, and coverage is always provided by another location.
