Big Box Stores Like Walmart Have Stopped Giving Change Due To Lack Of Coins

The coronavirus pandemic has caused a coin shortage in America. Coins stopped flowing through the economy when people "hunkered down" in the spring. Staff and production safety problems also kept U.S. mint workers, who make the money, off the floor.

Walmart and Kroger's are currently not giving back change. In Alaska, McDonald's fast food stores have signs up in the windows alerting customers to the problem, too.
