Jason Lobo Was On A Discovery Channel Show 

'Edge of Alaska' Featured The Residents Of The Remote Town Of McCarthy In The Copper River Valley  

KTUU reported on July 29th, 2026, that a man named Randy Elliott has identified two of the three people killed in the crash of a small plane at Dan Creek airstrip near McCarthy. Randy Elliott said his son, Anadyr, his son's unnamed girlfriend, and pilot Jason Lobo all died in the wreck on the sandbar. 

Troopers released a photograph of the upside-down pastel blue-and-white Piper Cub.

The pilot, Jason Lobo, is listed on the web as an 'actor' in the Discovery Channel TV reality show 'Edge of Alaska' about McCarthy. 


In one episode, Jason Lobo and his brother built an unwieldy 'rocket stove.' A still shot from that show, along with promotional information by the Discovery Channel. is attached. The episode aired 11 years ago, and has had 37,000 views on the web.
