On 6/25/2023 at approximately 1439 hours, 239 PM, AST responded with Palmer Ambulance, Palmer Fire, Park Rangers, and Court Service Officers to Independence Mine in Palmer for someone found unconscious and not responding. 

58 Y/O Wasilla resident Kimberley Lynn-Ward was identified by Alaska Drivers License on scene. She was pronounced dead on scene by apparent natural circumstances while hiking. Next of kin has been notified.
