Shane Ewan Still At Large, Troopers Say

The Alaska State Troopers are hoping the public can help them find Shane Ewan of Gulkana, who was officially declared missing several weeks ago. 

Roy Shane Ewan II is 46 years old. He grew up in Gulkana. 

When Shane disappeared, he was under an active felony assault warrant for assault, kidnapping and terroristic threatening. The Troopers have asked for help finding him, and believe he may have gone to Fairbanks. 

However, some local rumors place him possibly closer to home – pointing out his knowledge of the woods and terrain near Gulkana. 

On Wednesday, June 28th, John Dougherty, an Information Officer for the Alaska State Troopers, said he had spoken to the Trooper handling the case. 

"Troopers are still searching for Roy Shane Ewan," Dougherty said. "Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Troopers at 907 822-3263.

A week later, on July 7th, there was still no word from the Troopers about finding Shane Ewan, the information officer reported to the Country Journal.
