Richardson Highway 97-106.5 Resurfacing

What To Expect:

Work began this week and will take place daily from 6am to 6pm. Work includes: culvert replacement, ditch work, paving, and bridge work on the Tazlina and Klutina River. Bridge work is expected to continue through the end of July 2026. 

Traffic Impacts: 

From the week of June 9 through mid-August, there will be flagger and pilot car operations with delays up to 20 minutes. 

Work Last Week: 

The contractor completed the installation of geocell and rock downflumes. They completed placement of ditch lining on project left and excavated drainage swails at Klutina Bridge. Work has begun on culvert cleaning. 

Work This Week: 

This week traffic control was placed on the Tazlina bridge. They excavated the wing-wall and back-wall. Removal of data collection equipment at the Tazlina Bridge started as well.

Denali Highway Culvert Replacement

What To Expect: 

Spring thaw revealed severe erosion at the Stikwan Creek culvert. The contractor has repaired the damage and armored select locations to prevent future erosion. 

We are waiting on vegetative stabilization. This project should be completed by July 31, 2025.

Glenn Highway/Richardson Highway ROW Reconciliation

Work tentatively begins the first week of July. 


Glenn Highway MP 143-154 Resurfacing

What To Expect: 

We will be resurfacing the Glenn Highway between MP 143-154. This project includes bridge work, drainage improvements, pavement preservation, roadside hardware, and utilities. 

The contractor is scheduled to begin road work on July 9th through the 21st.
