CRNA, Costco Get Ready To Ramp Up

NOTICE FROM CRNA, THURSDAY APRIL 20TH, 2023 REGARDING NEW VACCINE GUIDELINES FOR ELDERLY & IMMUNOCOMPROMISED

We are still waiting on approval and guidance from the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. Once that is complete we will be able to share more information. Our COVID-19 page will be updated. Individuals that are interested will be able to inquire about their eligibility and schedule an appointment by contacting CRNA and speaking with our Primary Care Clinic.

APRIL 20TH, 2023: With at least 1,300 Americans still dying of Covid every week (almost all of them elderly) the Food & Drug Administration has authorized additional bivalent booster shots for those over 65 — and for people with compromised immune systems.

THE FDA says if you haven't had a bivalent booster for Omicron variants in the last four months you can now get another one. If you are "immunocompromised" you can get the bivalent vaccine two months after your last shot.

The object is to protect the elderly and chronically ill from "severe disease."

The Costco pharmacy in Anchorage told the Journal that you'll be able to get the shot within days.
