Covid Apparently Isn't Over In Southeast Alaska

The island of Petersburg, Alaska is suffering a new wave of Covid cases, according to KFSK Radio in Petersburg. A June 14th, 2023 story says the Petersburg medical center's chief nursing officer doesn't know exactly how many people have Covid, but that "she knows it's a lot."

One reason counting Covid cases is hard is that people are using home antigen tests.

The story said that people are showing up in the emergency room with a lot of symptoms.

Petersburg has had a large number of people visiting the town recently. They had a "Little Norway Festival" in May, and several large June weddings, followed by cruise ship passengers and crew visiting town.
