In spring, 2024, the Alaska Association for Historic Preservation, announced that the Chitina Emporium was on their current list of top endangered buildings in Alaska.
Many historic buildings have fallen by the wayside in the Copper Valley since the Pipeline days.
Here's a look at one of them – the McCrary Barn in Copper Center.
