Police Say Decrease Started Before Pandemic

Anchorage's crime rate is dropping this year.
Cars were stolen at a rapid clip in Anchorage in 2018. Stolen vehicle reports are down two thirds from two years ago. Homicides are down. General theft is down. Even assaults are down a bit.
The decrease began before the pandemic really hit, according to Anchorage police.
