Troopers Say Valdez Man Shot Pistol Over Heads Of Two Others At Thompson Pass

On 4/27/2022 at approximately 0100 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to Mile 34 of the Richardson Highway for a report of shots being fired. Investigation revealed Dale Longhurst, age 31, of Valdez, intentionally fired a pistol over the heads of two individuals while impaired by alcohol. 

Longhurst was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault in the Third Degree and one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 4th Degree. Longhurst was transported to Valdez Jail and given a $5,000 cash only bail after arraignment.
