Alaska Airlines flights resume after software update "calculating weight & balance" on planes rectified.  Fortunately, key Alaskan planes only grounded for an hour, the company says.

News reports say that a "ground stop" for all Alaska & Horizon Air flights was issued at 7:50 am Pacific Time." The exact reason the FAA has done this was not initially clear. 

Alaska Airlines is a major means for Alaskans to get into and out of the state. 

Alaska Airlines said in a statement:

 "We're working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and encourage guests to check the status of their flights on alaskaair.com or the Alaska App prior to heading to the airport."
