SOS Call Used To Report The Incident, Wildlife Troopers Say

On 02/16/2025 at approximately 1405 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers received an SOS emergency cell phone message of an injured juvenile snowmachiner in backcountry north of the Eureka Lodge.  

Based on reported injuries, helicopter rescue was requested while Wildlife Troopers proceeded by snowmachine.  Alaska Air Guard pararescue responded and recovered the individual to an Anchorage hospital.  The remaining party was accompanied out of the field.
