On August 21, 2026, at approximately 1924 hours, AST received a call from the Tangle Lakes Campground reporting that a male was found deceased on a hillside with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.

AST responded to the scene and located the deceased individual on a hill near the campsites. After conducting the investigation, it was determined that the male had shot himself. The decedent was positively identified by his driver’s license. NOK has not been notified. AST is currently working with law enforcement agencies in the Lower 48 to get the NOK notified.
