Department of Public Safety Advisory
Reminder That Alaska's Lands Have Confusing Property & Access Rights
TROOPER NOTICE BELOW:
Location: Statewide
Advisory Text:
As the last of the summer salmon are running and hunting season gets into full swing, the Alaska State and Wildlife Troopers want to remind those spending time in the backcountry to be mindful of the property they are accessing.
Alaska has private, public, federal, and Alaska native land allotments scattered throughout the state, each with different access rules and laws. Be familiar with the area that you are accessing and pay attention to trespassing and legal warning signs.
It is the hunter’s responsibility to be aware of public and private boundaries. For further information on land ownership and public access information see page 8 in the Alaska Department of Fish and Game 2021-2022 Hunting Regulations:Alaska 2021-2022 Hunting Regulations
