Snodgrass Fire Near Denali Highway Is Contained 

UPDATE: JULY 10TH:
The fire is 100% contained and all resources have been demobilized. The fire will continue to be monitored.

JULY 7TH:

Copper River Forestry was notified late Tuesday evening ( July 5th of a wildfire burning near mile 80 of the Denali Highway. The Snodgrass Fire #486 is estimated at 120 acres, with 80% containment.

12 Smokejumpers, a Wildland Fire Module from Farmington, New Mexico, an engine, and firefighting aircraft are working to finish containment on the Snodgrass Fire. Smoke is visible from the Denali Highway.

JULY 7TH:

Snodgrass Fire - 486 Started On July 5th

The fire grew to 91 acres. It is 80% contained. The smokejumpers, C-62, H-6094E, and the New Mexico Farmington Module will continue with containment next shift.
