Second School Violence Threat Arrest In Mat-Su In Two Days
Troopers Say Former Student Made Verbal and Text Threats; Charged with Terroristic Threatening

On April 7, 2023, at 10:32 am, Alaska State Troopers were contacted in reference to a threat, made verbally and via text, to shoot up a school event at Valley Pathways High School in Palmer.
AST immediately located the suspect, Dayton Miller, age 19, of Sutton, at his place of employment. Miller was a former student at Valley Pathways High School. Subsequently Miller was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer, charged with Terroristic Threatening 2 DV, and Assault 4 DV. There is no evidence that the suspect brought a firearm to a school or event. Investigation is continuing.
The Alaska State Troopers take all threats made against Alaska’s schools and students seriously and will work to hold anyone that make these types of threats accountable for their actions.
