On April 6, 2023 at 2:53 pm Colony High School contacted the Alaska State Troopers to report a social media post that was brought to their attention by a concerned parent. 

The photograph showed a current student holding a rifle with a threatening quote. Troopers immediately launched an investigation into the social media post and contacted the juvenile. After reviewing all of the facts surrounding this incident the juvenile was remanded to the Palmer Youth Facility and charges were referred to the Division of Juvenile Justice. There is no evidence that the juvenile possessed a firearm at the school.

The Alaska State Troopers take all threats made against Alaska’s schools and students seriously and will work to hold anyone that make these types of threats accountable for their actions
