Over the past week, Troopers have responded to numerous reports of vehicles in distress along the Dalton Highway. 

Trooper investigations indicate the primary reasons for the vehicles distress to be continuing to drive into known hazardous conditions and excessive speed for roadway conditions. 

Hazardous conditions are forecasted again for this weekend, and conditions in the winter can rapidly change. All drivers on the Dalton Highway are reminded to have adequate emergency supplies appropriate for winter conditions while traveling on the highway for them and any passengers. 

Emergency response may be delayed due to weather, road conditions, and distance. As a reminder, there is no cellular service along the majority of the highway, and very limited public services.
