"An Excellent Cottage Industry For People Of The Copper River Valley"

From Senator Jack Coghill

Dear Country Journal,

We have introduced SB 472 which will allow people to set up Moose Farms. Animals would be awarded by the State Department of Fish and Game by permit to those people wishing to raise moose. It would seem that this would be an ideal solution to the slaughter on the Alaska railways, or the moose starvation problem being experienced in the Mat-Su Valley. The moose could be rounded up and then given to interested Alaskans.

This program would be an excellent cottage industry for people in the Copper River Valley. It is an idea of great merit and we have high hopes of its passage. The emotion of moose kills may do more to pass this bill than the fact that will provide needed jobs for the people of Alaska.
