Troopers Say Driver Was Injured, Speed Possible Factor

On 05/18/2026 at approximately 0945 hours, Troopers and VPSOs responded to that area of Mile 63 Richardson Hwy for a report of a single vehicle crash with injury. Upon further investigation, it was determined the vehicle was traveling North bound, went off the roadway and crashed into the trees. The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. The driver was transported to Valdez due to injuries sustained. Speed and inattentive driving are suspected to be a factor.
