Three King Salmon Seized For Fishing In Closed Personal Use In Chitina, Troopers Say

On 6/25/22, Aleksandr Tkachenko Jr, age 43 of Delta Junction, was issued a summons to appear in Glennallen District Court from taking Chinook salmon during a closed period in the Chitina Personal Use Fishery.  

Tkachenko was contacted by Alaska Wildlife Troopers in the Chitina Subdistrict of the Copper River, the subsequent investigation revealed he was in possession of (3) king salmon, which is a violation of the emergency closure, as well as the bag limit for the fishery.  The (3) unlawfully taken Chinook salmon were seized and Tkachenko was ordered to appear in Glennallen Court for the charges.
