25-Year-Old Anchorage Motorcyclist Killed In Midnight Collision With Moose On Glenn

Fatality Was 3 Miles From Eureka Lodge

On August 13, 2022 at 12:01 am, Alaska State Troopers in Glennallen received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle that hit a moose at mile 131 of the Glenn Highway. 

Troopers arrived on scene and began life saving measures on the driver who was identified as Dennis Straughn III, age 25 of Anchorage. Straughn was later pronounced deceased on scene. Next of kin has been notified.
