Story On The Internet About McCarthy Claims It's A "Town Run Entirely By Dogs"

Ever wonder how accurate the internet is?  

A site called "PetHelpful" wrote on September 6th that they had discovered the little town of McCarthy in the Copper Valley. And, surprise, McCarthy is "run by dogs"! 

  
This unique vision of McCarthy, the historic old outfitting town near the Kennicott Mines, is one we'd all be hard-pressed to recognize. Especially, probably, if you actually live in McCarthy.  

The story says it over and over again. several times. McCarthy, says PetHelpful is "...a town that is basically run entirely by dogs." 

There's a single kernel of truth in the story: McCarthy's off the beaten path and difficult to get to. As they point out, you have to drive for "hours and hours." But the journey is worth the effort, they say. 

After all, says PetHelpful: 

"Who wouldn't want to visit a town run by dogs?"

Indeed.
