On 05/06/2025 at approximately 1552 hours, Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, and the Highway Interdiction Team responded to a motor vehicle collision at the interchange of Parks and Glenn Highways in Palmer.
Initial investigation revealed a 2006 Ford Pickup made a left turn into the path of a semi-truck pulling doubles that was southbound on the Glenn Hwy. The semi struck the pickup in the driver’s door.
The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The highway was shut down for approximately two hours for scene documentation and clean-up. Investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: On September 3, 2022, Alaska State Troopers in Palmer were notified the 16 year-old driver of the Toyota Corolla had been declared deceased as a result of her injuries. The State Medical Examiner’s Office and next of kin have been notified.

On 09/01/2022 at approximately 1745 hours, Alaska State Troopers and Palmer Bureau of Highway Patrol (BHP) received a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection the Glenn Hwy and Parks Hwy in Palmer. Initial investigation revealed a 2015 Toyota Corolla was making a left turn from the southbound Parks Hwy offramp onto northbound Glenn Hwy when it pulled out in front of 2014 Ford Expedition that was southbound on the Glenn Hwy.
The Expedition t-boned the Corolla in the driver’s door. All four juvenile occupants of the Toyota are in serious condition and have life-threatening injury. Impairment is not suspected at this time. BHP has case responsibility and investigation into this incident is on-going.
The highway was closed intermittently for approximately three hours and was clear at approximately 2030 hours.
