New Wildfire Reported Near Eureka Roadhouse Five Miles Off the Glenn Highway 

Firefighters and aviation assets from Palmer and Glenallen are currently responding to a new initial attack 4 miles southeast of the Eureka Roadhouse on the Glenn Highway. The initial size up indicated that the fire was burning in black spruce and tundra and approximately 70-100 acres in size and exhibiting extreme fire behavior with short runs and spotting ahead of the main fire. The fire will be visible to the public traveling through the Glenn Highway corridor between mile markers 120-136. The fire is plotted in a modified response area and at this time poses no impact to structures or public in the area.
